Lord and Camhi Lead Women's Tennis Over Quinnipiac and Albany

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After dropping the season opener to Boston College on Friday, the Brown women's tennis team (2-1) responded in a big way on Sunday, scoring victories over Quinnipiac and Albany at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
In the early contest on Sunday, Brown registered wins in the first five singles matches en route to a 6-1 win over the Bobcats. Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.), Hannah Camhi (Woodbury, N.Y.), and Sarah Kandath (Gansevoort, N.Y.) each tallied straight-set victories for the Bears while Ammu Mandalap (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and Ashley Noyes (Marblehead, Mass.) prevailed in three sets.
In doubles action, Camhi and Lord teamed up to defeat Rachel Horton and Sydney Young, 6-2 before Mandalap and Noyes outlasted Jacqueline Raynor and Michelle Dassa, 6-2.
Against Albany in the afternoon matchup, the Bears got strong performances from Nikita Uberoi (Boca Raton, Fla.), Mariska Chamdani (Santa Clara, Calif.), and Victoria Traynor (Osprey, Fla.) to overwhelm the Great Danes by a 7-0 score.
Lord and Camhi each scored their second victory of the day and once again combined to score a win in doubles play, defeating Cheryl Kukkonen and Alba Sala, 6-1.
The Bears will play host to UMass-Amherst on Friday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.
