
Men's Golf Posts Second Highest GPA In Nation, Earns GCAA President's Special Recognition Award

NORMAN, Okla. – For the second consecutive year, the Brown University's men's golf team has been awarded the President's Special Recognition award from the Golf Coach's Association of America (GCAA) for attaining a team GPA of over 3.5 (3.62). Brown narrowly missed garnering the Academic National Championship, finishing just behind defending champion DePaul. "This prestigious award exhibits the caliber of young men that compete at Brown and how important academics is to them," said Brown head coach Michael Hughes. "I'm extremely proud to be their coach."
Alabama, Brown, Butler, Missouri and Yale were also accorded President's Special Recognition status for earning team GPAs of 3.50 or better.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college of university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
DePaul posted the highest recorded team GPA with 3.66. A total of 103 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher and earned All-Academic Team recognition. |
