Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Providence, RI- Both the Brown University men's and women's cross country team received USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, the organization announced this afternoon. The men's team is one of 135 Division I men's program to receive the honor for the 2009 season, up from 110 in 2008, while the women are one of 176 teams honored, up from 162 in 2008.

Brown senior Ariel Wright also received USTFCCCA All-Academic status for her efforts during the 2009 cross country season. Wright was a fall Academic All-Ivy selection, and earned First Team All-Ivy honors with a seventh place finish at Ivy League Heps in October.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.0 team cumulative GPA.
