Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at Dartmouth

Men's Track & Field Finishes Sixth at Ivy League Heptagonal Championship

Hanover, NH- The Brown University men's track & field
team finished in fifth place overall during the 2010 Indoor Track
& Field Heptagonal Championship this weekend hosted at
Dartmouth College. The Princeton Tigers finished in first (181),
followed by Cornell (149), Dartmouth (55), Harvard (53), Columbia
(52), Brown (38), Penn (33) and Yale (28).
The Bears had some solid performances in the second day of the
championships. Senior Duriel Hardy did an outstanding job this
afternoon and earned the 5k title with an indoor personal record of
14:21.28. Also performing well was Mike Mazerik, who ran the 60m
dash in 6.98 seconds to place sixth.
Brown's distance medley relay team of senior Brian Schilder,
freshman Nathan Elder, sophomore Anthony Schurz and sophomore Matt Duffy crossed the line in 9:57.86 for fifth place and the
Bears' 4x800 relay team comprised of junior Chris Collins,
sophomore Mike Elnick, senior Alex Stern and freshman Erik Berg
finish in sixth place with a 7:43.23.
In the field events, the Bears were led by Andrew Chapin's
third place in the triple jump. Chapin registered a 15.02m jump.
Earning a fifth place finish was junior Jordan Maddocks, who posted
a 2.01m (6-07.00). And following behind was junior AJ Fitzgerald
with a 1.94m (6-04.24) for eighth place.
