Bears Go 1-1 at ECAC Championships against Harvard and Yale

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Brown men's tennis team (5-4) split a pair
of matches at the 2010 ECAC Championships, falling to eventual
Champion, #62 Harvard, in the first round, 5-2, and upsetting #69
Yale, 4-3, in the backdraw.
Against the Bulldogs, the match came down to the wire, with junior
Charlie Posner (Cambridge, MA) clinching the win with a three-set
victory at #6 singles. After winning the doubles point with wins at
#2 and #3, freshman Tom Deighton (London, England) gave Brown a 2-0
lead with a victory at #5 singles. Yale then got on the board with
a win at #2 singles, but senior Nathaniel Gorham (Los Altos Hills,
CA) claimed a victory at #1 to give Brown a 3-1 lead. Another
Bulldogs' victory made it 3-2, but Posner won, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, at #6 to clinch the win. Yale earned one final
victory at #4 singles for the 4-3 final.
