
Steve Peyton Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown junior safety Steve Peyton (Woodland, CA) was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after Saturday's game against Rhode Island for the Governor's Cup.
Seemingly everywhere on the field, Peyton led the Bears'
defense with a career high 20 tackles in the battle for the
Governor's Cup. He had seven solo hits and was in on 13 other
tackles. Peyton also broke up a pass and recovered a Rhody
fumble.
Peyton made his first career interception in Brown's win over
Harvard two weeks ago, returning it 17 yards to set up a Brown
field goal. He also made two solo tackles against the
Crimson. He currently ranks second on the Brown team with 28
tackles for the season.
Peyton and his Brown teammates return to action again on
Saturday, October 9, traveling to Worcester, Mass., to face Holy
Cross. Game time at Fitton Field is 1:00 p.m.
