
Bears Cruise To 69-48 Win Over University of the Sciences In Philly Hoop Group Classic

Philadelphia, PA - Junior Adrian Williams scored 12 points,
while senior Matt Mullery and freshman Matt Sullivan scored 11
points each to help Brown cruise to its third straight win, a 69-48
victoryover the University of the Sciences in the Philly Hoop Group
Classic at the Palestra.
The wins lifts the Bears to 4-3 on the season, while the
University of the Sciences falls to 0-3.
The game was never in doubt as the Bears opened a 12-0 lead in the
first seven minutes of the game. Matt Sullivan scored six in the
opening spurt, while Williams added a trey.
Brown led 29-17 at the half, and by as many as 27 points in the
second half, 54-27, on three-point basket by senior Steve Gruber
with 8:31 remaining in the game.
All of Williams' 12 points came from behind the three-point
arc, hitting 4 of 10 treys. Sullivan, who handed out a career high
seven assists, was a perfect 3 of 3 from behind the three-point
arc, and converted 4 of 6 shots for the game. Mullery added five
rebounds to go with his 11 points.
Bears' freshman Tucker Halpern grabbed a team-high 8
rebounds, while scoring 9 points. Junior Peter Sullivan, Gruber and
junior Garrett Leffelman finifhed the game with 8 points each.
Brown connected on 13 of 32 treys on the game (41-percent), while
adding 10 two-point field goals.
Leading the University for the Sciences was Adewale Adefami , who
registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Alec
McClure also scored 10 points.
The Bears conclude the Philly Hoop Group Classic tomorrow
afternoon against Siena. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at the Palestra.
