Kate Flanagan joined the Brown water polo coaching staff in thesummer of 2013 and was elevated to the primary women's water poloassistant coach in 2014.
In 2014, Flanagan helped guide the women’s team to a 20-16record and mentored a pair of All-Southern Division performers inKate Woods ’14 and Emily McNamara ’14 and anAll-American in Woods.
Also the operations assistant for the men’s team, shehelped direct the men’s team to its first NCAA appearancesince 1990 in 2014 after the Bears won their first CWPA title since1985.
Flanagan was a four-year member of the UCLA women's water poloteam and helped guide the Bruins to National Championships in 2003and 2005. A three-time Academic All-American, she also played forthe national youth team that went to the 2001 North American YouthTournament and 2002 Australian Youth Tournament.
Flanagan graduated from the Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii,in 2002, where she lettered in water polo. She received the LeslieKerfoot award in 2001 and 2003 for recognition as the Most ValuableHawaiian Female Athlete in the Hawaiian Invitational Water PoloTournament.
