Eryn Riley, who served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Bryant University during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Brown University volleyball program in 2020-21.

In her first season with the team in 2019, Riley helped guide Brown to its most wins (13) and first winning campaign (13-10) since 2001. The Bears came in fourth place in the Ivy standings, finishing in the top half of the league for the first time since 2014. Riley mentored three All-Ivy selections, including Sophia Miller ’23 – the Bears’ first Ivy League Rookie of the Year since 1998 and first First Team All-Ivy choice since 2013.

At Bryant, Riley worked with the team’s liberos and defensive specialists helping the Bulldogs win the 2018 Northeast Conference Tournament and earn the program’s first berth in the NCAA Division I Championship. She helped the Bulldogs post a 22-13 record (10-4 NEC) in 2018 and a 21-12 mark (11-3 NEC) in 2017.

During her time with Bryant, Riley mentored Erika Ward, the first player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs as a sophomore. Riley held responsibilities in the areas of film, scouting, summer camps, travel, operations, and social media.

Riley has also gained coaching experience with Gold Medal Squared, Club Jamba Volleyball (2015-17), and Valley Sand Volleyball Academy (2013-17). She began her coaching career as a student assistant coach at CSU Bakersfield in 2015, helping the Roadrunners reach the Western Athletic Conference tournament final for the third straight year.

As a player, Riley competed for CSU Bakersfield’s volleyball program for four seasons from 2011-14 while also playing for the sand volleyball team from 2013-15. As a senior, she helped the Roadrunners win the WAC tournament and make their first appearance in the NCAA Division I Championship, while leading the team in service aces (30). As a junior, she helped the team post a 21-12 record and reach the WAC tournament final.

A 2015 graduate of California State University, Bakersfield, Riley earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She completed a Master of Business Administration from Bryant in August 2019.
