Stephanie Kusano Wallace joined the Brown women’s tennis program as an assistant coach in January of 2020 and recently completed her first season with the Bears in the spring.
Kusano Wallace had a decorated playing career at Cal Berkley, where she was a Pac-10 Second Team selection in 2008 and a two time honorable mention honoree (2006-07). As a starting singles and doubles player for the Golden Bears, she helped lead the program to the 2006-07 NCAA Final Four and was a team captain for the 2007-08 NCAA Finals team. She was recognized as an All-American for doubles in the 2007-08 season and held a career high doubles rankings of #10 and a singles ranking of #21 in the nation.
Following Cal, Kusano Wallace was a tennis professional/assistant pro-shop manager at The Downtown Club at Met, ClubCorp and was a personal junior development coach for two highly competitive junior tennis players.
Kusano Wallace was the community service development director for the Andy Roddick Foundation from 2012-13 where she created internal programming while simultaneously working with partner organizations to utilize existing youth programs from the community.
In the summer of 2019, Kusano Wallace coached at Cal's summer camps where she instructed 70+ athletes between the ages of 7-17 on shot selection progressions, strategy development and mental toughness techniques.
A 2008 graduate from Cal with a Bachelors in Legal Studies, Kusano Wallace was also a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic Team member.
