Justin McIntyre joined the women’s rugby staff as an assistant coach in October of 2016, bringing over 13 years of rugby experience, as both a player and coach, to College Hill.
In his first season (2016-17), McIntyre helped guide the team to the Ivy Semifinals in 15’s and advance to the third place game at Ivy 7’s in the spring. One player was selected NIRA All-American and two were named Honorable Mention All-American for 15's.
From 2012-14, McIntyre was the head coach of the men’s and women’s rugby teams at Endicott, helping start both programs at the College. In the position he oversaw the team’s budget, marketing, recruiting, travel, public relations, fundraising, strategic planning, staffing/scheduling and academic standards. In 2013 and 2014, McIntyre coached the Endicott College Club Athlete of the Year. McIntyre also instructed the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference All-Star Team in 2014.
In addition to Endicott, McIntyre was a volunteer assistant coach for Dublin High School (Ohio), where he also helped start the rugby program in 2016.
From 2006-11, McIntyre was the college recruiter for the Toledo Celtics Rugby Club. McIntyre also had stints as an assistant coach at Saint John’s High School and Hudson High School in Ohio.
A 2011 graduate of Toledo, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, McIntyre completed his masters in athletic administration in 2014 from Endicott. McIntyre holds a USA Rugby Level 200 Certification.
