Jeffrey Kirpas, formerly the video coordinator for the University of Rhode Island women’s basketball program, enters his second season with the Brown University women’s basketball program – and his first as an assistant coach – in 2017-18.
During the 2016-17 season, Kirpas aided Brown to an appearance in the inaugural Ivy League Tournament and to a spot in the Women’s Basketball Invitational, gaining the program’s first-ever win in a national postseason tournament. Brown set single-season program records for games played (30), points (2,169), field goals made (779), 3-pointers made (226), and free throw percentage (.739) while winning the inaugural Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament.
Kirpas served as URI’s women’s basketball video coordinator during the 2015-16 season after acting as the head girl’s basketball coach at the Immaculate Conception School in Newburyport, Mass., during the 2014-15 year. He worked as the Student Director of Operations for the Holy Cross women’s basketball program in 2013-14.
As the head coach at Immaculate Conception, he led IC to a 21-1 overall record, winning both the NSCESL regular season and tournament titles. He also served as a Sports Information Assistant at Assumption College during the 2014-15 year.
While at Holy Cross, Kirpas assisted with recruiting, team film, practice planning, and travel arrangements in his operations role as a senior. A four-year practice player for the Crusaders’ women’s program, Kirpas worked as a Student Coordinator of Intramurals at Holy Cross from 2012-14.
A 2014 graduate of Holy Cross with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Kirpas is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Providence College while also serving as a graduate assistant for career services at PC in 2015-16.
