Steven Tekesky joined Brown as an assistant coach in June 2024. He joined the Bears after a standout collegiate career at West Virginia University, as well as one season playing in the professional ranks.
Tekesky played one season of professional indoor soccer in 2022-23 for the Kansas City Comets of Major League Indoor Soccer, starting in three games.
As a student-athlete, Tekesky was a five-year member of the men’s soccer team at West Virginia University, where he was a three-time All-MAC honoree and earned three selections to both the Academic All-MAC and Academic All-Big 12 teams. A goalkeeper, he ranked 14th nationally in minutes and ranked second in the MAC with six clean sheets as a junior in 2019. That season, he was also named the MAC Tournament MVP and helped lead the Mountaineers to their first ever MAC Tournament title. He served as a team captain over his final two seasons and helped pilot WVU to its first Elite Eight berth in 30 years as a grad student in 2021.
Tekesky graduated from West Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2021, and went on to earn his master’s in sports management from WVU.
