Sam Hershberger is in his fifth season with the men's basketball program, and second as an assistant coach, in 2023-24. He previously served as the team's operations coordinator from 2019-22.
Prior to his time at Brown, Hershberger worked as a graduate assistant on the men's basketball coaching staff at the University of Florida (2017-19). With the Gators, Hershberger assisted the Director of Basketball Operations and served as the Florida Basketball Camp Commissioner. He also led individual skill workouts with guards, wing players, and big men.
Hershberger graduated from Elon University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and earned a M.S. degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2019. At Elon, Hershberger joined the team as a non-recruited player and was voted team captain as a senior, lettering in all four years.
