Beginning his 25th season on the Bears’ football staff in 2024-25, Paul Frisone transitioned to the Coordinator of Football Operations & Player Development in 2018.
Frisone, who held coaching duties on the defensive side of the ball beginning with his arrival as a defensive assistant in 2000, has two Ivy League championships under his belt. Frisone received accolades for developing a young and inexperienced outside linebacker group who played a key role in Brown’s 2005 outright Ivy League championship and 2008 co-Ivy championship title. Six of Frisone’s players went on to earn All-Ivy honors.
As a recruiter, Frisone was able to recruit 14 All-Ivy players, one Ivy Rookie of the Year, two four-time All-Ivy selections, and two Ivy League record holders, as well as several players who have gone on to play in the NFL and CFL.
Frisone came to Brown from Union College, where he was the defensive line coach for three years. During his tenure at Union, the Dutchmen compiled a 22-7 record and were the 1999 ECAC Division III champions. The 1999 team also featured the No. 1 ranked pass efficiency offense in the country, and the No. 2 overall defense in the nation.
A 1993 graduate of Western New England College, Frisone earned a bachelor’s degree in government. He was a four-year letterwinner for the football team at defensive tackle, while also lettering two years in wrestling.
A native of Schenectady, N.Y., Frisone and his wife, Tracy, reside in Somerset, Massachusetts, with their son, Samuel.
