Eddy Morrissey joined the Brown staff in 2024 and serves as the Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach.
Morrissey returned to Brown for his second stint on College Hill after previously serving as the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Merrimack.
In his first year back at Brown in 2024, Morrissey had two players earn All-Ivy honors in left guard Jack Connolly and left tackle Hayden Bozich, while right tackle Beau Smith earned FCS Football Central Freshman All-America accolades. The Brown offensive line helped the Bears lead the league in total offense per game (421.5) and passing yards per game (290.4), protected All-Ivy quarterback Jake Willcox and helped tailback Matt Childs earn Ivy League Rookie of the Year.
In his return to Brown, Morrissey rejoined head coach James Perry for the fourth time in his career, having coached along Perry at Princeton, and served as the offensive line coach under Perry at Bryant in 2017. He was previously a member of Brown’s staff in the late 1990s when Perry was the Bears’ starting quarterback.
During the 2023 season, he was the Offensive Line Coach at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to arriving at URI, Morrissey held coaching positions at Austin Peay (offensive line and run game coordinator), Mississippi State (assistant offensive line), Bryant (offensive line), Princeton (assistant head coach/offensive line), Fordham, (offensive line/tight ends), and Oregon (graduate assistant).
Morrissey’s first stint on College Hill came as a member of both Mark Whipple and Phil Estes’ staffs from 1997-1999 when he served as the Defensive Backs Coach in 1997 and the Running Backs/Special Teams Coordinator in 1998-99.
Morrissey began his coaching career as a student assistant at Plymouth State in 1989 under Don Brown, whom he later coached under at both UMass and Northeastern.
Morrissey graduated from Plymouth State in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He also holds a master’s degree in education from Springfield College, which he earned in 1996.
