Megan Shea-Poli joins the Brown University field hockey coaching staff after spending five seasons as the head coach at Merrimack College, including three at the Division I level. Shea-Poli serves as the program's recruiting coordinator under head coach Jill Reeve.
Shea-Poli oversaw the transition to Division I for the Merrimack field hockey program, serving as head coach for two years at the Division II level before moving up. As a Division II program, Shea-Poli guided the Warriors to a 29-11 record in two seasons, including Merrimack's first-ever NEC Conference Championship in 2018. As a newly minted Division I program, Shea-Poli guided the Warriors to consecutive wins over Maine and Bryant.Â
Prior to her tenure at Merrimack, Shea-Poli served as an assistant at Northeastern (2015), Columbia (2014), and New Hampshire (2011-13). While at Columbia, Shea-Poli guided the offense and helped the Lions to a 12-win season, one of the best in program history. The 2014 Columbia staff was named Ivy League Staff of the Year.
Shea-Poli graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 with a degree in sociology and nutrition. She was a standout four-year starter on the Wildcats field hockey team, leading the team in scoring as a senior captain in 2009 while earning NFHCA All-American honors, NFHCA Northeast Region First Team honors, and was selected as the America East Offensive Player of the Year. Upon graduation, Shea-Poli was seventh in program history in goals (42) and sixth in points (99).Â
