Before Brown: Lappin spent the 2011-12 season playing for the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL) … Recognized as a great skater with elite level ability … Responsible at both ends of the rink possessing a nose for the net, special teams ability, a high hockey IQ, and good vision … Was selected as captain of the 2011-12 Tri-City Storm … His 27 goals were among the top 10 in the USHL … Overall point total of 46 was among the top 25 in the USHL … Had 184 shots, which was 8th in the USHL and recorded 82 points (41g, 41a) in 142 career games played in the USHL over three seasons … Played initial USHL season in Cedar Rapids before a trade sent him to Tri-City for the past two years.
