As a Freshman in 2011: Appeared in 26 games as a rookie … Was a key part of the Bears' penalty kill ... Blocked nine shots on the season … One of 23 Bears named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Squad.
Before Brown: Siers spent the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons in the USHL, most recently with the Waterloo Black Hawks … Appeared in 33 games in 2009-10 with Waterloo and notched 11 points (5g, 6a) and 80 penalty minutes … Started the 2009-10 season with the Lincoln Stars, playing in 10 games (1g, 3a, 29 PIM) … Spent the 2008-09 season with Lincoln, appearing in 57 games … Had 148 penalty minutes and 13 points (4g, 9a) … Was coached by Brown alum, Rick Olczyk ’92 throughout high school as a member of Team Illinois and the Chicago Mission … In his last two seasons with the Mission (2005-2007), Siers posted 115 points (53g, 63a) and 431 penalty minutes in 151 games … Was an assistant captain for both Team Illinois and the Chicago Mission, winning a State Championship in 2005.
