Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to LMU

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Brown volleyball team (1-4, 0-0 Ivy League) fell 3-0 to LMU (7-1, 0-0 West Coast Conference) on Saturday afternoon to close out its West Coast trip.
Sophia Wolfson and Fisayo Afonja both tallied eight kills between the three sets. Wolfson hit .421 and earned a block as well. Sophomore Sarah Shaw also added four blocks in the match.Â
The Bears were only able to come within one point before LMU expanded its lead in the first set, winning it 25-20. Brown could not build momentum in the second, and LMU took advantage of that to take the set 25-13. LMU continued to dictate the pace in the third and commanded the third set 25-18.Â
Next up, the Bears will return to the East Coast to compete in a weekend series against Fairfield on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and a double-header on Saturday against Middle Tennessee at 11 a.m. and Central Connecticut State at 5 p.m.
