PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's soccer team is set to host New Haven in its 2026 season and home opener at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears

Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Chase Wileman returns for his fifth season at the helm.
Brown returns three All-Ivy selections in James Snaith (First Team), Lorenzo Amaral (Second Team), and Mathias Hille (Second Team).
Snaith played in all 15 games for the Bears, and led the team defensively, helping minimize opponents' scoring chances. Amaral led the Bears in assists (5), and remained tied for first in points (9), while Hille assisted on a goal against Holy Cross last season.
The Bears also return standout Mateo Pereyra. As a freshman last season, Pereyra led the Bears in scoring with four goals. He collected the second-most points on the team with eight, behind Amaral and Mads Stistrup Petersen.
Max Pfaffman will return between the pipes after finishing with a 3-2-2 record last season. He closed out the year with 1.03 goals against average, and posted a .774 save percentage.
Brown was selected to finish fifth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, preceding Dartmouth, Yale, and Columbia.
Brown welcomed eight newcomers in the offseason with the addition of Sergio Canos Seneci, Luke Harrell, Graham Kois, Donovan Mark, Solomon Powell, Ethan Rabel, Alex Sauerbrei, and Tyler Teixeira.

Scouting the Chargers (0-2-0)

Tom Mattera leads the Chargers for their second season as a Division I program.
New Haven opens up its 2026 campaign with three straight road games. The Chargers previously fell to Northwestern 3-1, and Maryland 3-2.
Lukian Lawro returns to New Haven after leading the Chargers with four goals and eight points. Lawro scored a bicycle kick goal against Providence last season that was featured as ESPN's top play of the day.
The Chargers concluded the 2025 season with a 5-5-6 record, going 3-2-3 in conference play.
