Women's Tennis Shuts Out Marist, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 49th-ranked Brown women's tennis team (9-3) shut out the Marist Red Foxes (3-3) 7-0 on Saturday, extending their win streak to four.
"A very solid performance by our team today against a competitive Marist team," Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.
Dani Ben-Abraham and Bella Hu kicked off the match with a 6-3 win at the first line over Tessa Wachtel and Viktoria Lorentzon. Ali Maguy and Anne Yang followed with a 6-3 victory at the second line against Chloe Clements and Caterina Assi. Sari Woo and Anne Moody closed out doubles matches with a 6-2 win at the third line against Yasmin Asnis and Lola Ungerma.
"When Marist raised their level we were able to match their intensity and outcompete them, which is something we have been working on as a team," Schmidhauser added.
The Bears continued their sweep into singles. At the first line, Hannah Shen defeated Viktoria Lorentzon 6-3, 6-4. At the second line, Ali Maguy pushed through her match against Caterina Assi, going into a tiebreaker set, 4-6, 6-2, and 7-5. Abigail Lee earned her win against Chloe Clements 6-3, 6-1 at the third line, keeping the Bears in the lead. Francesca Saroli secured her victory with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win at the fourth line over Vihana Shresta. Bella Hu, at the fifth line, controlled her match against Yasmin Asnis, securing a 6-4 and 6-4 victory. Chloe Qin closed out the match against Tessa Wachtel at the sixth line with a 6-3 and 6-2 win.
"Anne and Sari played inspired doubles at line three, executing their strategy flawlessly." Schmidhauser concluded.

The Bears travel to Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., to face Boston University at the Manchester Athletic Club on Sunday, Mar. 1 at 1 p.m.
