Ivy League Releases Football Preseason Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown football team has been picked eighth in the Ivy League Football Preseason Poll, the league announced on Monday. The poll was voted upon by 16 media members, two representing each of the league's eight institutions.
Harvard took the top spot in the preseason ledger with nine first-place votes, followed by Dartmouth in second with four first place tallies. Yale was picked third with three first place votes, followed by Columbia in fourth.
Princeton (72 points), Penn (49), Cornell (42) and Brown (32) rounded out the final four spots.
Dartmouth and Harvard have earned a share of the league title each of the last two seasons. Last year, Harvard, Dartmouth and Columbia all shared the trophy as tri-champions with identical 5-2 league records.

The Bears are set to open the season on Saturday, September 20 at home against Georgetown. Season tickets are on sale now for all home games in the 100th anniversary season of Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium. Season ticket packages also include access to Brown's game against URI at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket on October 3.
