
Softball Announces Class of 2029

Brown Softball Head Coach Mary Holt-Kelsch has announced the addition of six student-athletes to the team that will join the program in the fall.
The class includes newcomers Reagan Crosthwaite, Katelyn Park, Torii Ramirez, Olivia Sikes, Jordan Simmons and Maddie Stubenrauch.
“This class will bring a great energy and work ethic to this program,” said Holt-Kelsch. "They are already locked in and working towards the goals and standards of the program. Each member of this class made it clear that they wanted to work and make an impact with Brown Softball, and I am excited to see each of them relentlessly work and compete in pursuit of another Ivy League Championship."

Reagan Crosthwaite
SS/Util. | Wheaton, Ill. | Wheaton North High School

- Wheaton North all-time home run (46) and RBI record holder (141)
- Three-time All-Conference, Two-time All-Area and Named All-State once
- Two-time Defensive Player of the Year
- Two-Time Suburban Life Athlete of the Week
- 2024 Dukane Conference Champions and 2024 and 2025 Regional Champion
- Three-time Academic All-Conference
Planned Concentration: Biochemistry
Why Brown?: “I chose Brown because it seemed like the perfect fit for me. With its elite academic programs, competitive softball, and positive environment, Brown checked off every box in what I was looking for in a school.”
Katelyn Park
Infielder | Irvine, Calif. | Arnold O. Beckman High School

- Named All-League all four seasons of high school with First Team honors as a freshman and junior
- Hit over .300 all four years of high school, hitting .487 as a junior
- Finished high school with 114 hits and 66 RBI
- Four-time High School Scholar Athlete
- Four years on the Principal’s Honor Roll
Planned Concentration: Economics
Why Brown?: “Brown contained what I really wanted from an academic school, but there were many other colleges that could have provided that for me. What I really enjoyed seeing was the chemistry that was very palpable through the TV screen that I saw in the softball team. The girls could have known each other for their entire lives, it seemed. On top of that, everyone has a champion mindset, and they all work hard to achieve their goals in any way possible. I would love to surround myself in that nature, and I want to have fun while working at it!”
Torii Ramirez
Outfielder | Carlsbad, Calif. | Sage Creek High School

- Played for Breakers Labs Club Softball
- Named First Team All-League as a freshman and sophomore and Second Team All-League as a junior
- Team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year as both a freshman and sophomore
- Had a career .451 batting average with six home runs and 79 stolen bases
- Was named to the Honor Roll and was awarded the AP Scholar Award
Planned Concentration: Political Science
Why Brown?: “Softball has been my gateway to creating lifelong friendships and honing significant life skills. But most importantly, I aimed to use it as my gateway to a prestigious education. Thanks to Brown Softball, I will be achieving my childhood dream of playing softball and studying at the highest level. I also wish to be the change I would like to see in the world and I believe Brown U is the prime place to chase that dream due to the flexibility of the Open Curriculum and the university's values of diversity and pursuit of knowledge.”
Olivia Sikes
1B/OF | Fleming Island, Fla. | Fleming Island High School

- FACA Class 5A District Player of the Year
- Two-time Fleming Island Team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year
- Fleming Island Offensive Player of the Year once
- Hit over .400 twice, including hitting .544 as a senior with 71 career RBI
- Committed only three errors in four seasons
- Four-time Principal Scholar, finished Top 3% of graduating class and National Honors Society Member
Planned Concentration: Psychology
Why Brown?: “I chose Brown because of the endless opportunities that this University can provide. Education has always been a priority for me, and once I learned about the unique open curriculum at Brown I knew that this was the place for me. When I visited the campus for the first time it sealed the deal. I got to see the diverse culture that Brown has. From the very beginning, Brown felt like home.”
Jordan Simmons
Pitcher | Orange, Calif. | Canyon High School

- First Team All-Orange County in 2024
- Crestview First Team All-League and Crestview All-League Pitcher of the Year in 2024
- Michelle Carew Classic All-Tournament Team in 2024
- OCADA Athlete of Character Award in 2025
- Canyon High School Female Sportsmanship and Leadership Award in 2025
- Honor Roll all four years of high school
Planned Concentration: Design Engineering
Why Brown?: “I loved the harmonious balance between a competitive softball environment, academic rigor that aligns with my intellectual pursuits, and an inclusive community that fosters collaboration and excellence. I couldn't imagine myself as anything other than a Brown Bear.”
Maddie Stubenrauch
Utility | Golden, Colo. | Golden High School

- Jeffco 4A Player of the Year in 2024-25
- Named First Team All-State and Honorable Mention All-State during high school
- Four-time First Team All-Conference 4A Jeffco
- Hit over .500 in three of four high school seasons
- Hit 25 home runs, drove in 125 runs and had 57 stolen bases during high school
- President of Girls Global Outreach and Member of National Honors Society
Planned Concentration: Political Science
