PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After an Ivy Championship that saw the No. 8 Bears take home the bronze medal, a handful of the team's seniors are taking home postseason All-Ivy honors.Â
The Ivy League announced this afternoon that Caroline Schmitz made First Team All-Ivy, while teammates Nadia Vondeling and Jessica McGrady both made Second Team All-Ivy. In addition, Audrey Roche was named an Academic All-Ivy selection.Â
Schmitz has been in the lineup for Brown's V8 in every race this season except for their Apr. 25 regatta against Cornell. Vondeling has been a mainstay in the V8 lineup as well, competing with Bruno's top boat for the entirety of the spring season. McGrady has rotated between the V8 and 2V8 this season, with most of her starts coming as a member of the program's top boat. All three helped the V8 capture the bronze at last weekend's Ivy Championship.Â
Audrey Roche, who has spent most of the season rowing with the 2V8, has also made one start with the V8 on Apr. 25 against Cornell and one start with the A4 on Mar. 29 against Princeton. All four seniors have been instrumental in keeping Brown as one of the top programs in the nation.
The Bears will turn their attention to the NCAA Divison I Selection Show tonight (Mar. 20) at 5 p.m. ET, where they'll found out if the program makes its record 28th consecutive appearance in the tournament. A link to the show can be found on NCAA.com or on the team schedule.
