Women's Swimming & Diving Places Fourth in Ivy League Championships

PRINCETON, N.J.– Brown women's swimming and diving finished fourth in the Ivy League Swimming & Diving Championships, finishing the meet with 998.50 points. It is the third-straight year that Brown has earned a fourth-place finish.
"This year's team has been a special one, led by a senior class that has been competitively dominant and culturally impactful to our program," said Kate Kovenock, Mary Ann Lippitt Women's Swimming/Diving Coaching Chair. "I'm very proud of the fight that we saw from them in pivotal moments over the last four years. We put together some of the best swimming in Brown history and had a lot of fun along the way."
Brown set a new school record in the final event of the meet with the team of Crystal Yuen, Kelly Dolce, Zehra Bilgin and Lily Klinginsmith posting a time of 3:17.16 in the 400 freestyle relay. The Bears finished second in the relay.
The night started with Yuen earning a sixth-place finish with an NCAA B Cut time of 16:36.77 in the 1650 freestyle.
Livia Venditti placed sixth and was the top finisher for Brown in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.74. Nadia Thomas came in 12th (1:57.31) and Jenna Reznicek finished 14th (1:58.06).
In the 100 freestyle, Dolce's time of 49.53 was good for sixth. Klinginsmith placed ninth (49.88) and Anna Podurgiel finished 13th (50.43).
Amie Barrow had Brown's fourth sixth-place finish of the night in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.10. Catherine Yu was 12th (2:16.28), Kaitlyn Holmes finished 13th (2:16.33) and Ellie Brault was 15th (2:17.67).
Bilgin's time of 1:58.37 earned the senior a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly and was an NCAA B Cut time. Sumner Chmielewski placed 11th with a time of 2:00.07 and Lizzy Washburn was 16th with a time of 2:01.29.
