PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Nine members of the Brown football team have earned All-Ivy honors, the league announced on Tuesday. This marks the second time in the last 10 years that Brown has earned at least nine all-league selections, and six of the nine are currently slated to return for the 2026 season. For eight of the nine, it is their first time earning All-Ivy.
The Bears land six players on the All-Ivy Second Team with junior quarterback James Murphy, sophomore running back Matt Childs, senior receiver Ty Pezza, sophomore receiver Trevor Foley, senior defensive back Elias Archie and junior defensive lineman Ike Odimegwu.
Three players earned Honorable Mention accolades in junior tight end Levi Linowes, sophomore defensive lineman Jack Middleton and senior linebacker John Perdue.
In addition, Pezza earns Academic All-Ivy honors for his work on the field and in the classroom as a computer science and business economics concentrator.
Murphy earns Second Team honors after finishing the regular season first in the league and third in the nation with 279.8 passing yards per game. He finished the season with 18 touchdown passes and had five games with at least 340 passing yards. His 471-yard performance at Cornell ranks as the fifth-most in a single game in program history, and his season completion percentage of .674 ranks second in program history. Under his guidance, the Brown passing offense ranks seventh in all of FCS Football at 283.6 yards per game.
Childs tied for second in the Ivy League this season with 12 total touchdowns and was tied for third with 72 points. He ranked eighth with 51.7 rushing yards per game, while his 89.0 all-purpose yards rank fifth in the league. He had five separate two-touchdown performances this season, including in each of the team's two Ivy wins to close the year.
Pezza led the Bears and ranked fifth in the Ivy League with 59.9 receiving yards per game while also leading the team in receptions (46) and touchdowns (7). He had two touchdowns as part of a career-high 172-yard effort at Cornell on October 25 and scored at least one touchdown in six games this season.
Foley was recognized following a breakout sophomore season that saw him rank second on the Bears and 10th in the Ivy with 55.8 receiving yards per contest. He had at least 99 receiving yards in three straight games, including a season-high 145 yards against Yale on Nov. 8. His one-handed catch against Penn earned the No. 1 play on SCTop10 on October 31 and was the winner of that week's You Got Mossed!
On the defensive side, Archie earns his second straight Second Team All-Ivy honor after posting 14 pass breakups this season, tied for the third most in a single season in program history. His standout performance was a major reason for the Bears' upset of then-No. 10 URI on October 3 where he grabbed an interception that led to a Brown touchdown, recovered a fumble, and added a forced fumble at the goal line that resulted in a turnover and led to another Brown touchdown. He earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors and a New England Football Writers Gold Helmet for the performance.
Odimegwu's huge breakout season saw him post 9.0 sacks, the second-most in the Ivy League and fourth-most in program history. His 10.0 tackles for loss ranked third in the league. His efforts helped Brown total 22.0 sacks on the season, the second-most in the league, six more than last season, and the most of the James Perry era.
In the honorable mention category, Perdue, a team captain, led Brown and ranked second in the league with 8.8 tackles per game. He also led the team with three interceptions and chipped in a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
Middleton's first year on College Hill saw him rank second on the team with 5.0 sacks and 17.0 tackles as part of a much-improved Bears' pass rush, which included 2.0 sacks against Princeton and a key sack at Bryant.
Linowes took over as the team's starting tight end and posted 19 catches for 239 yards and one touchdown this season, which came on a 42-yard reception in the season opener against Georgetown.
Brown finished the season 5-5 overall, winning its last two games to finish 2-5 in Ivy League play, tying for sixth with Princton in the league standings.
