Women's Rugby Marks Senior Day with a 76-7 Victory Over Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's rugby team (2-4) marked senior day with a dominant 76-7 victory over the Princeton Tigers (0-5).

Laryssa Barbosa kicked off the scoring with two tries, and Julia Murray completed two conversions. Although the Tigers quickly responded by scoring a try and a conversion, the Bears fought back, with Olivia Baptiste making two tries, Caitlin Moroney making one try, and Charlotte Davies completing the conversion.

Building on their first-half momentum, the Bears kept the pressure on as Chayse Barksdale scored a try in the first four minutes of the second half. Baptiste then added two more tries to extend the lead. Continuing to break through the Tigers' defense, Priscilla Maalouf, Lauren Huang, Lily Nowak, and Kate Muldoon each scored one try.

After the game, the team joyfully honored eight seniors—Kayla Atoigue, Baptiste, Barbosa, Faith Chen, Makena Corsiglia, Court Cummings, Muldoon, and Murray—with heartfelt celebrations, presenting posters, flowers, and stuffed bears.

"It was a great day celebrating our seniors, the center pair of Baptiste and Barbosa really provided us a great attacking platform," Kathleen Flores Head Coach Rosalind Chou said. "The team defense continues to improve, and our confidence is building each week."

Looking ahead, the Bears will travel to Hanover, N.H., for their last regular-season game against Dartmouth on Saturday, October 25th, at 12 p.m.
