PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball's head coach Taylor Virtue has announced the team's 2024 schedule. The Bears will play eight home matches this season.
Brown will be on the road to start the season at Bryant as the Bears will play in a tournament hosted by the Bulldogs that will feature Providence and Rhode Island on September 6-7.
"I am excited to announce the release of our 2024 schedule." Said Virtue. "For the first time we will be participating in a tournament comprised entirely of teams in the state of Rhode Island. Keeping all four DI teams in our home state during pre-season is great for volleyball in this area. Our second weekend in Chicago will be a great homecoming for Beau Vanderlaan, Ally Panzloff and Elizabeth Sessa. The UNH tournament will bring some great regional and national matchups that will prepare us for a challenging conference schedule."
The Bears will play in two other non-conference tournaments, traveling to Chicago to play Bowling Green, DePaul and UIC (Sept. 13-14) and New Hampshire to play Central Connecticut State, UConn and the host Wildcats (Sept. 20-21). The last non-conference game will be a home contest against High Point on Oct. 8.
The Ivy League schedule starts for the Bears on September 28 when Brown hosts Yale. Brown will also host home weekends against Columbia and Cornell (Oct. 11-12), Penn and Princeton (Nov. 1-2) and Harvard and Dartmouth (Nov. 8-9).
The league road slate for Brown begins with a trip to Princeton and Penn (Oct. 4-5). Brown will then head to Dartmouth and Harvard (Oct. 18-19) and Yale (Oct. 26). The Bears close the regular season at Cornell and Columbia (Nov. 15-16).
The Ivy League Tournament will feature the top-four teams and will be hosted by the regular season champion from Nov. 22-23.
