
Equestrian Wins Johnson & Wales Show to Start Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Equestrian won its season-opening show at the Johnson & Wales Show on Saturday. The Bears finished with 33 points as a team, beating second place Johnson & Wales by eight.
Mimi Gochman won the show as the high-point rider on the day, finishing first in the Open Flat and runner-up in the Open Fences.
In the Intermediate Flat competition, Bridget Hickton won the event, while Julia Byrne finished sixth and Sydney Fritz took seventh.
Caroline Hwang took fourth in the Intermediate Fences.
Sofia Ene won the Limit Fences event with Fritz taking third.
Cassady Churchill was the champion in the Limit Flat with Judy Lee placing second.
Lauren Zhou placed fifth in the Novice Flat, Abigail Grove took fourth in the Pre-Novice Flat and Lauryn Mills finished second and Catalina Coral took fourth in the Intro Flat.
