
Katie King Crowley Selected to 2023 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Former Brown women's hockey and Team USA standout, Katie King Crowley, has been announced as a member of the Class of 2023 for the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.
A 1997 graduate, King Crowley is regarded as the greatest player to come through the program. King Crowley holds records for career goals (123) and points (206), as well as single season goals (40) and points (71). Over her four years, Brown posted a combined 79-15-9 record with three-consecutive ECAC regular season championships. King Crowley is a three-time Ivy League Player of the Year (1195, 1996, 1997) and led her team to a 22-0-0 ECAC record and was named the Conference Player of the Year to culminate her historic career for the Bears.
King Crowley is also among the all-time greats for the U.S. Women's National Team, scoring 265 career points which still ranks third among all players with at least 210 appearances. She skated for Team USA in three Olympic Games, winning a gold medal at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, silver at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City and bronze at the 2006 Games in Turin. Crowley's 14 career Olympic goals, including a hat trick in the 2006 bronze medal game, are tied for the Team USA lead, and her 23 career Olympic points are third-most among American women.

She took home five consecutive silver medals in the IIHF World Championships (1997, 1999-2001, 2004) and helped lead Team USA to its first-ever gold medal in 2005. A member of the U.S. National Team from 1997 to 2006, Crowley retired after the 2006 Winter Olympics and was named USA Hockey Women's Player of the Year. In 2009, she and her 1998 Olympic teammates were enshrined in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
King Crowley currently serves as the head women's hockey coach at Boston College and has worked with many national teams.
