SCOUTING BROWN
- The Bears enter the weekend having split last weekend's games with a three-set win over Penn and a four-set loss to Princeton. Brown will now focus on games against Harvard and Dartmouth as the battle for spots in the Ivy League Tournament heat up.
- Brown is currently tied for third with the Crimson in the Ivy League standings and both teams are one game ahead of Dartmouth.
- The Bears have owned the series with both Harvard and Dartmouth as of late. Brown has won six-straight matches against the Crimson with the last loss to Harvard back in 2019. The Bears are on a 15-set winning streak against Harvard having not dropped a set since losing the first set of a 3-1 win on Oct. 9, 2021.
- Against Dartmouth, Brown has won seven-straight matches with the last loss being a five-set defeat in Hanover on Nov. 2, 2018. Four of the last seven wins for Brown have been three-set victories, including the last two. Brown has not gone five sets with the Big Green since the last loss.
- Beau Vanderlaan is making her way up the Brown volleyball record book. Earlier this season, Vanderlaan took possession of fifth-place all-time in career blocks with 285. The junior can reach fourth place with 17 more blocks.
- Vanderlaan, who already owns two of the top five hitting percentage seasons in Brown history, would break her current record by more than 40 points if she maintained her current percentage. Vanderlaan leads Brown, is second in the Ivy League and is ninth in the NCAA with a .424 hitting percentage.
- Jessie Golden continues to control the back line defense for Brown with 5.63 digs per set. That number is currently second all-time for Brown for highest average in a season. Golden is fifth in the NCAA in digs per set and has at least 10+ digs in every match this season. Golden has a 25-match streak of double-figure digs dating back to last season.
- Cierra Jenkins continues to be a rock for Brown's offense, leading the team with 9.76 assists per set. Jenkins has finished with at least 30 assists in three of hte her last four matches, despite three of them only going three sets. Her lone match below 30 assists was a 29-assists effort in a sweep at Penn.
- Jenkins has started to attack more for the Bears offense, finishing with at least five kills in each of her last eight matches and in nine of the ten Ivy League matches for the Bears this season. Jenkins is hitting .470 on the year and has hit over .400 in eight of the ten Ivy League contests. She has taken double-digits attacks in five of her last six matches.
- Harvard is 13-6 overall and picked up 3-0 win over Columbia the last time on the court. The Crimson is 9-1 on its home court this season with the lone loss being a five-set defeat against Cornell last weekend.
- The Crimson net defense has been stellar this season with Harvard sitting 16th in the NCAA and leading the Ivy League in blocks per set (2.68). Ryleigh Patterson leads the team, is second in the Ivy and 29th in the nation with 1.31 blocks per set.
