Three Wrestlers Place at Black Knight Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Brown wrestling competed at the Black Knight Invitational against a talented field of wrestlers.
The Bears had three wrestlers place in their respective weight classes. Junior James Araneo finished third at 197 pounds, sophomore Jonathan Conrad was fifth at 174 pounds, and junior Blake Saito placed fifth at 157 pounds.
Araneo won two matches, defeating Hadyn Packer from Rutgers (DEC 11-4) and Danny Lawrence of Army (DEC 9-4).
Conrad took three matches on the day. He won two by fall over Aydin Rix-McElhinney of Northern Colorado (FALL 3-0 1:43) and Gunner Filipowicz from Army (FALL 6-1 3:59).
Saito won four matches with a trio of major decisions over Micah Hanau from Army (MD 13-0), Oscar Aranda from Army (MD 16-3) and Eric Tigue from Buffalo (MD 9-0).
Sophomore Alex Semenenko (285) won two matches at the Invite, while junior Ian Oswalt (141) wrestled to one victory.
