"Throughout the season we've really struggled to capitalize on our attack opportunities and I'm really proud of the team for executing on corners and remaining dangerous and threatening no matter the time of the game or score," said head coach Britt Broady.
Emma van der Veen struck first to give the Hoyas a 1-0 lead late in the opening quarter.
Just over five minutes into the second quarter, Brown senior Jodi Porto re-directed a backdoor pass from Zoe Lawrence off a penalty corner to even the score at 1-1.
Ella Edmonds (4 saves) kept the score tied with a save against Lindsay Devine as the teams entered the halftime break tied.
Lawrence ripped her second goal of the season past Georgetown goalkeeper Ella Fahey (10 saves) early in the third quarter to give the Bears the 2-1 lead. Juliette Meijaard and Imogen Govan assisted on the penalty corner goal.
Darby Campbell struck for Georgetown minutes later to even the score at 2-2, but from there Brown took over the game.
Porto tipped a Cameron Kinsella shot off a penalty corner in the 38th minute to put the Bears ahead, 3-2. Katie McCallum doubled Brown's lead less than a minute later with a great individual effort.
Lexi Pellegrino got on the scoresheet before the third quarter ended with her fifth goal of the season. Govan picked up her second assist of the match on the marker.
Lawrence found the back of the net 47 seconds into the fourth quarter to push Brown's lead to 6-2 with Meijaard and Govan assisting.
Pellegrino capped the scoring with her second of the game with 2:10 remaining with Govan picking up her third assist.
The Bears finished the game with a 29-9 edge in shots and a 17-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Bears also had 16 penalty corners compared to eight for Georgetown.
Brown heads across town to take on the Providence College Friars (9-6, 3-3 Big East) on Tuesday at Lennon Family Field. Tuesday night's non-conference finale is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will stream on FloSports.com.
