
Women's tennis announces incoming class

Brown women's tennis coach Lucie Schmidhauser has announced her incoming freshman class. The three-member class is made up of Vivian Miller, Anne Moody, and Phoebe Peus.
“I am excited to welcome our 2022 freshman class on campus,” Schmidhauser said. “These young women not only bring a wealth of competitive experience nationally and internationally, they also love the game of tennis and are enthusiastic about learning and getting better. I look forward to Anne, Phoebe and Vivian bringing high energy and intensity to practice every day and helping our team achieve a new level of excellence.”

Vivian Miller
5'10 | Ashley Hall | Sullivan's Island, S.C.
- Played tennis at Ashley Hall (2020-21) and North Shore County Day School (2018)
- Blue Chip and rated #21 by Tennis Recruiting Network
- USTA Girls 18s career-high rankings of #2 in singles and #9 in doubles
- Helped lead Ashley Hall to two state championships
- Mary Vardine McBee Award winner (valedictorian)
Why Brown: “I was drawn to the creative, smart, and welcoming Brown student body in addition to how the campus is integrated into the vibrant city of Providence. I love the idea of combining my different interests through the open curriculum and I am super excited to be part of the close-knit Women's Tennis team and work with Coach Lucie.”
Anne Moody
5'7 | Laurel Springs School | Bedford, N.Y.

- Played tennis at Laurel Springs School
- Ranked #34 in class of 2022 by Tennis Recruiting Network
- Ranked #1 in New York State by Tennis Recruiting Network
- Compiled a 9-1 record and took fifth place at the 16s L1 Winter Nationals
- National Honor Society member
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because of Coach Lucie and the team dynamic and culture. My goal has always been to continue to improve in college and I am so grateful to play for a coach who is so dedicated to the development of her players. Lucie's commitment to and passion for her players and the team was evident from our first phone call. I love how the team pushes and supports each other. The creativity and collaboration of the students at Brown is also something I'm so excited to be around. I can't wait to be a Bear!”
Phoebe Peus
5'4 | Connections Academy | Los Angeles, Calif.

- Played tennis at Connections Academy
- Achieved a top ten ranking in the nation
- Represented the United States in international tournaments
- Sister of 2022 Brown grad and member of the women's tennis team Ryan Peus
