Women’s Hockey Releases 2022-23 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey program has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The Bears are slated for 29 games, including 14 at Meehan Auditorium and 22 against ECAC Hockey opponents.
"The ECAC is the most competitive conference from top to bottom so we are preparing for fast, physical and fun hockey each and every weekend," said head coach Melanie Ruzzi, who enters her second season behind the Brown bench. "We will look to quickly gel as a team and get our six newcomers up to speed so that we can continue to find success in playing as a cohesive group."
The Bears will drop the puck on the new season at home on Friday, October 21, kicking off a home-and-home weekend series against Stonehill. Brown will open up ECAC play the following weekend with a pair of road games at Dartmouth and Harvard on October 28-29.
The first home conference games will come against Princeton on November 4 and Quinnipiac on November 5, followed by a two-game road trip to Penn State on Nov. 13-14.
The Bears will travel to crosstown foe Providence College for the annual Mayor's Cup game in a Wednesday afternoon matinee on November 26 at 2 p.m.
Brown will play five games in the month of December, all at home, starting with four ECAC matchups before a three-week layoff for final exams and the holidays. The squad will close out 2022 with a non-conference home clash against UConn on New Year's Eve starting at 2 p.m.
Brown's final 14 games of the season will all be against conference opponents, including five home contests against Yale (1/14), Clarkson (1/27), St. Lawrence (1/28), Harvard (2/17) and Dartmouth (2/18).

Last season, the Bears posted their best overall record since the 2016-17 season, and their most ECAC wins since 2008-09, giving them their highest seed in the ECAC standings in a decade. The team made significant strides forward throughout the season, posting a 4-2-3 record over its final nine games, which included a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents in No. 7 Yale and on the road at No. 9 Quinnipiac.
