Women's Crew Earns 25th-Straight Bid to NCAA Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's crew is set to make its 25th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship after receiving an at-large berth to the 2022 Championship Tuesday evening.
The 2022 Championships will begin on Friday, May 27 and continue through Sunday (May 29) at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. It's the second straight year the Championships have been held in Sarasota and third time since 2018.
The University of Central Florida and the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates
will once again serve as hosts of the 2022 NCAA Championship.
The Bears are one of three programs alongside Princeton and Washington to appear in every NCAA Championship since its inception in 1997.
Brown's Varsity 8 boat is seeded fourth and will race in Heat 4 against #5 Yale, #12 SMU, #13 Virginia, #20 Northeastern, and #21 Rhode Island.
The Bears' 2V8 crew grabbed the fifth seed and will race in Heat 4 #4 Stanford, #12 Syracuse, #13 Princeton, #20 Rhode Island, and #21 Jacksonville.
The V4 boat garnered the sixth seed and will race against #3 Princeton, #11 Cal, #14 Oregon State, #19 Boston U., and #22 Jacksonville in Heat 3.
For the first time since 2015, all three Bruno boats are seeded within the top-6. Brown finished third at the 2015 NCAA Championship.
There are 22 teams in the 2022 field split between 11 automatic qualifiers and 11 at-large selections. Brown is one of four Ivy League teams in the field with Princeton, Penn, and Yale. The Pac-12 leads all conferences with five selections with the Ivy League (4), ACC (3), and B1G (3) all receiving multiple bids.
Brown has captured seven NCAA Championships since 1997 and look to make it number eight in 2022. The Bears have 17 top-5 finishes and 23 top-10 finishes in Championship history.
Brown leads all programs with seven NCAA titles with Washington (5), Cal (4), Ohio State (3), and Virginia (2) as the other programs to win multiple titles. Harvard and Stanford have each won one Championship along with defending National Champion Texas.
The Longhorns earned the top seed in all three races as they look to defend their title.
