Women's Crew Heads to New Jersey for Ivy Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-Â The Brown women's crew team hopes to pick up where it left off at the Eastern Sprints when it travels to Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey for the Ivy League Championships on Sunday.Â
The fifth-ranked Brown Bears won five Grand Final races at the 47th Eastern Sprints two weeks ago on Lake Quinsigamond to win the team title for the 11th time since 1990. Brown also won the Varsity 8 title for the ninth time since 1988.
The schedule of events for Sunday is listed below:
The competition will be stiff at Cooper River Park with four Ivy teams ranked in the top ten of the latest Pocock Coaches Poll.
Yale(3rd), Princeton (4th), Brown (5th) and Penn (7th) are all currently in the top ten with Harvard, Cornell and Columbia also receiving votes.
The last time the Ivy Championships were held was in 2019 when the Bears finished second as a team. Brown finished third in 2018 after winning four straight Ivy Championships from 2014-2017.
