
Brine Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown senior goalkeeper Jodie Brine has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after posting consecutive shutouts in Brown's unbeaten 2-0 weekend.
Brine and the Bears took consecutive 2-0 wins over Dartmouth (Oct. 1) and Wagner (Oct. 2) to improve to 8-2 overall in the 2022 season.
The Oxshott, United Kingdom native recorded four saves in Brown's Ivy League win at Dartmouth on Saturday before stopping all three shots faced in the non-conference win over Wagner on Sunday.
Brine and the Bears have held opponents scoreless in three straight games going back to the 4-0 win over Sacred Heart (Sept. 25).
On the season, Brine holds a 1.28 goals against average and a .759 save percentage. With six career shutouts, Brine ranks ninth in program history. Brine's goals against average and save percentage both rank third in the conference.
The Bears welcome the Columbia Lions (2-7, 0-2 Ivy League) to Goldberger Family Field on Saturday (Oct. 8). Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
