CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – After posting three points through her first two collegiate games, Brown freshman forward Jade Iginla has been named the ECAC's Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Iginla scored the Bears first goal of the year in last Friday's season opener against Stonehill, scoring off a rebound in the second period. She followed that up the next night with a goal and an assist in Brown's 3-1 win at Stonehill, scoring what proved to be the game-winner early in the second period, and assisting on a key insurance goal late in the third.
Through the first two games, Iginla leads the Bears with three point and 11 shots on goal, and is tied for the team lead with a plus/minus of +3.
The Bears return to action this weekend when they open up ECAC play at Dartmouth on Friday afternoon, followed by a trip to Harvard on Saturday.
