
Ella Palmer named to New Zealand Women's National Water Polo Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo freshman Ella Palmer has been named to the New Zealand Women's National Water Polo Team.
"I am super excited for Ella to get this opportunity to represent her country," said head coach Felix Mercado. "I think its important for not only our athletic department, but also our university to support our student athletes when these rare opportunities present themselves. We are proud of Ella and can't wait to see what she does."
Palmer, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, was one of 14 players named to the team that will compete at the 2022 FINA World League Super Final. The tournament will be held in Tenerife, Spain from November 2-6.
Palmer has been a mainstay for Team New Zealand, having played on the u18 Women's Team and Junior Women's Team. She also was a member of the 2021 New Zealand Water Polo u18 FINA World Championship squad.
