Women's water polo kicks off season at UC Santa Barbara

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's water polo team kicks off its 2022 season with matches at UC Santa Barbara. The Bears will play two matches on Saturday (Jan. 22) and two matches on Sunday (Jan. 23).
UC Santa Barbara's updated spectator policy does not allow public ticket sales this weekend.

ABOUT BROWN
The Bears will be playing their first match since March 8, 2020. During the 2020 season, Brown was 12-2 overall before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Brown returns it's top three scorers from the 2020 season. Through 14 games two seasons ago, Katie Dvonch was the leading scorer for Brown with 30 goals and added 16 assists. Claire Pisani was second on the team with 27 goals and Katie Klein was the third leading scorer with 22.
The leading returner in assists is Bryn Gioffredi, who was second on the team in 2020 with 20 assists. Lily Weiser had 15 assists on the season.
In goal, senior Marley Presiado will wear the No. 1 cap for the Bears. Presiado was the 1A for Brown two years ago and had 55 saves to 54 goals allowed.
