RESULTS
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown (2-4) women's swimming and diving closed out its home schedule with a 181-96 victory over Columbia on Saturday afternoon at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Freshman Jenna Reznicek shattered her personal best and set a program standard in the 100 backstroke, finishing with a time of 52.94, an NCAA standard.
The previous mark was 53.82 by Taylor Seaman (2020) at Ivies.
"Right now, our team is acutely aware that, on any given day, the only opportunity that we can be certain of is the one we have on that same day," said Kate Kovenock, Mary Ann Lippitt Women's Swimming/Diving Coaching Chair. "That mindset has served us well in our current block of winter training, and this particular "today" was a really good day. We were able to honor our seniors and put up some great performances in a great pool."
Brown's 200 medley relay of Reznicek, Kellie Willhite, Sage Matsushima and Samantha Scott got things rolling with a win, showcasing a time of 1:42.24. The Bears' "B" team of Rebecca Waterson, Ellie Brault, Nell Chidley and Maria Iorini placed second at 1:44.11.
Sara Barrett won the 1000 free with a time of 10:01.75. Anna Podurgiel took the 200 free at 1:49.88. Reznicek's program mark, Waterson (56.34) and Emily Clements (56.48) went 1-2-3 in the 100 backstroke.
The 100 breaststroke featured two Bears atop the leaderboards in Audrey Lukawski (1:03.58) and Willhite (1:03.93).
Julia Feord, Liv Mitchell and Alexa Brinker swept the 3-meter diving with scores of 305.70, 294.08, and 275.40, respectively. Feord, Mitchell and Brinker also swept the 1-meter.
