
Women’s Crew Tallies 16 CRCA Scholar-Athletes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's crew has tallied 16 CRCA Scholar-Athletes, including two student-athletes who earned the accolades for the third time, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced.
2021 CRCA Scholar-Athletes
Seniors Addie Dahl (Greenwich, Conn.) – a Marine Biology concentrator – and Danielle Kahan (Wayland, Mass.) – a Neuroscience concentrator – each captured CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors for the third time as both won the award in 2019 and 2020.
A group of 10 Bears gained the laurels for the second time including seniors Serena Irwin (Washington, D.C.), Margaux Kelley (La Jolla, Calif.), and Heili Truumees (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) and juniors Ellie Baker (Newton, Mass.), Maya Barnard (Wellesley, Mass.), Limor Dubrovsky (Lafayette, Calif.), Zoe HasBrouck (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Beate Kaz (Montclair, N.J.), Freya Keto (Silver Spring, Md.), and Hannah Yazdani (McLean, Va.).
Four Brown student-athletes garnered the plaudits for the first time including senior Sofia Mason (Wellesley, Mass.), juniors Ellie Leites (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Bridget O'Callahan (Los Angeles, Calif.), and sophomore Elise Carman (Cernex, France).
In 2021, the Bears earned their 24th straight berth in the NCAA Championships and placed eighth as a team for their 23rd top-10 finish out of 24 championships.
To be eligible for a scholar-athlete award, student-athletes must be in their second, third, or fourth year of eligibility, rowed in 75 percent of the team's spring races in an NCAA eligible boat, and maintained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
