BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Four Brown field hockey student-athletes earned 2020 NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction laurels in an announcement made by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday. More than 250 student-athletes were recognized by the NFHCA this year for the accolade.
Brown's four honorees include juniors Bea Bennett (Bristol, U.K.), Amanda Cooper (Moorestown, N.J.) and Danielle van Rootselaar (Bilthoven, Netherlands), and sophomore Lindsey Ross (Woodbury, Conn.).
The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
Two Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Awards will be released on March 29 and the NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on June 15.
