
Women’s Crew’s Madden ’18 Set for USRowing Olympic Trials

SARASOTA, Fla. – Brown University women's crew alumna Cicely Madden '18 is set to race in the women's single scull at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Rowing #1, scheduled to take place February 22-26 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.
A native of Weston, Mass., Madden has competed on the senior level since 2019, winning a silver medal in the double scull at the 2019 World Rowing Cup II and placing fifth in the double scull at the 2019 World Rowing Championships.

Racing Schedule/Results
Racing will open with time trials on Monday prior to heats on Tuesday and repechages on Wednesday. Thursday will feature semifinals, with finals taking place on Friday. Racing is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on the first four days, with Friday's racing beginning at 8:30 a.m. Semifinals and finals will be streamed live on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
The second 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials will take place April 12-16 in West Windsor, N.J. That regatta will feature racing in the women's double sculls, men's quadruple sculls, and men's pair. The Final Olympic Qualification Regatta will take place May 15-17 before the Olympic Games run from July 23-August 9, with rowing events slated to start on the morning of July 23.
During her time at Brown, Madden concluded her career as a four-time All-Ivy honoree, a two-time All-American – including a First Team selection in 2017 – and a two-time competitor at the U23 World Championships. Brown's 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year Award nominee, Madden competed with the first varsity eight in all 53 career spring races. She helped Brown win three Ivy League team titles (2015, 2016, 2017) and finish in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships in all four years.
