Women's swimming and diving picks up more wins at day two of Bruno Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's swimming and diving extended its lead over the field after day two of the Bruno Invite on Saturday (Dec. 4). The Bears picked up wins in six of the eight events on the night.
Brown started out with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jenna Reznicek, Kellie Willhite, Nell Chidley and Samantha Scott finishing in a time of 1:41.71.
In the women's 400 yard IM, Ellie Brault took home second with a time of 4:25.15 and Emily Clements finished in sixth with a time of 4:27.06.
It was a clean sweep for the Bears in the 100 yard butterfly as Brown took the top four spots. Chidley won the event in a time of 54.65. Sage Matsushima was second with a time of 55.18, followed by Zehra Bilgin (55.38) and Reznicek (55.62).
The Bears achieved the same feat in the 200 yard freestyle with Anna Podurgiel taking home the top spot in 1:50.50. Bella Antoniuk touched the wall in a time of 1:50.79 for second place while Audrey Orange (1:51.77) and Sara Barrett (1:51.95) took third and fourth, respectively.
Brown had three swimmers end up in the top final in the 100 yard breaststroke with Willhite as the top finisher with a third-place time of 1:03.29. Brault took fourth in a time of 1:03.39 and Lukawski finished sixth in a time of 1:04.34.
Reznicek won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.26. Matsushima's time of 56.67 was good for fourth and Katie Phelps finished sixth in a time of 56.85.
Julia Feord won the women's 1-meter springboard with a score of 277.80. Liv Mitchell took second place with a score of 273.00.
The night ended with the 'B' relay team of Bilgin, Iorini, Takabayashi and Gong winning the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:29.88. The team of Podurgiel, Antoniuk, Barrett and Orange came in second with a time of 7:30.23.
The Bears will finish up the Bruno Invite on Sunday (Dec. 5) with prelims at 10 a.m. and the finals beginning at 5 p.m.
