PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown senior quarterback EJ Perry has been named a Third Team All-American by Stats Perform, the organization announced on Monday morning. The 2021 Bushnell Cup Winner as the Ivy League's Player of the Year, a two-time First Team All-Ivy selection and a current finalist for the Walton Payton Award, Perry earns the first All-American honor of his career.
Perry was one of three Ivy League players to be recognized as All-America by Stats Perform, with Princeton linebacker Jeremiah Tyler being named to the Second Team, and Dartmouth linebacker Jaylen Mackie joining Perry on the Third Team. Perry was previously named a Preseason All-American prior to the beginning of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, with the 2020 campaign being wiped out due to the pandemic.
In 2021, Perry threw for 3,033 yards and 23 touchdowns in addition to rushing for 402 yards and seven touchdowns. He ranked third in the nation in completions per game (29.5), seventh in completion percentage (66.8), eighth in passing yards per game (303.3), eighth in total offense (343.5 yards per game) and ninth in points responsible per game (18.8). His performance earned him the Bulger Lowe Award from the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston as the top offensive player in FBS/FCS Football in New England. He was also named All-New England by the New England Football Writers Association and First Team All-Ivy for the second straight year. He has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl in Las Vegas on February 3.
Perry climbed up the ladder in both the Brown and Ivy League record books, finishing the year second all-time at Brown for single-season pass completions (295) and total offense (3,435), third in completion percentage (.664) and fifth in passing yards (3,033). His 295 pass completions this season were the second-most in Ivy League history, just 14 behind James Perry's Ivy League record total from 1999. His 3,435 total yards of offense was also third-most in any season in Ivy League history, giving him two of the top three spots on the total offense list in league history.
Perry joins a list of over 180 Brown players to have earned All-America status throughout the program's 142-year history. Last week, Graham Walker was named a Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports. A complete list of Brown's previous All-Americans can be found here. The complete list of 2021 Stats Perform All-Americans can be found here.
