
Vanderlaan named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Beau Vanderlaan was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after helping Brown win its first Ivy League Title since 2001. Vanderlaan earned her first weekly award of her career after hitting .447 in wins against Princeton and Penn.
Vanderlaan, the Ivy League's top hitter, was stellar in Brown's sweeps over both Princeton and Penn that clinched the Ivy League title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. For the weekend, Vanderlaan averaged 3.38 kilsl per set and finished with seven blocks.Â
Against Princeton, the freshman finshed with nine kills and hit .429. In the sweep over Penn, Vanderlaan had 14 kills, hitting .458 and tallied six blocks.
Vanderlaan is the fourth Brown player to win Rookie of the Week this season.
The Bears finish the regular season with road games at Harvard (Nov. 12) and Dartmouth (Nov. 13).Â
