Miller and Jenkins sweep Ivy League Volleyball weekly awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After winning both matches over the weekend, Brown volleyball's Sophia Miller and Cierra Jenkins were rewarded with Ivy League weekly awards, the league announced on Monday (Oct. 11). Miller picked up her third Player of the Week award, and Jenkins was named Rookie of the Week.
Miller won back-to-back Player of the Week awards after leading the Bears' offense in wins over Penn and Princeton. For the weekend, Miller finished with 3.50 kills per set on .275 hitting and added 3.13 digs per set.
To start the weekend, Miller finished with a 10-kill, nine-dig performance against Penn. The junior followed that with an 18-kill, 16-dig double-double against Princeton, snapping a 13-match losing streak to the Tigers. Miller hit .317 against Princeton and finished the weekend with three service aces.
Jenkins picked up her first award of the season, taking home Rookie of the Week honors after guiding the offense with 12.00 assists per set and 2.63 digs per set. Jenkins also added five blocks, four kills and three service aces in the two matches.
Against Penn, Jenkins handed out 43 assists with 14 digs for her team-leading seventh double-double of the season. In the win over Princeton, Jenkins posted a career-high 53 assists, the most by a Bear since 2018. Jenkins also added seven digs and three kills against the Tigers.
Miller, Jenkins and the rest of the Bears begin the second half of the Ivy League schedule hosting Yale on Friday (Oct. 22) with the match beginning at 7 p.m.
